Visible range volume profile
A Volume Profile calculated only from the price bars currently visible on the chart, updating as you scroll or zoom.
What the numbers mean
visible bars; rows
The 'setting' is the chart itself — the profile is calculated only from the bars currently on screen, so zooming or scrolling recalculates it.
- Whatever is on screen — the calculation changes as you zoom or scroll
- Rows — the resolution setting
How it is used
Useful for asking where the volume sits in exactly the stretch of history being studied, without committing to a fixed session or period.
- Asking where volume sits in exactly the stretch of history being studied
- Finding the POC of a specific rally or decline without fixing a date range
How it relates to everything else
Useful for analysis and unusable for rules: because the levels move when the view moves, they cannot anchor a fixed strategy. Pin the range first if the levels need to stay put.
- Same tool as volume profile, scoped to the visible bars
- Levels shift with zoom, so they are not stable references
- Good for studying one move in isolation
What to watch for
Because the levels change as the view changes, they are not stable reference points and cannot be used in a fixed rule without pinning the range.
