WaveTrend with crosses
The WaveTrend oscillator with its internal line crossovers explicitly marked, highlighting buy/sell signal points directly on the chart.
What the numbers mean
The same channel and average settings as WaveTrend, plus a short signal-line period whose crossings are marked directly on the chart.
- 10 and 21 — the same channel and average settings
- 4 — the signal-line period whose crossings get marked
- ±60 — the bands that decide which crosses matter
How it is used
The marked crosses are used as the trigger, most usefully when they occur beyond the overbought or oversold bands rather than in the middle of the range.
- Crosses beyond the bands → the ones worth attention
- Crosses in the middle of the range → noise, despite being marked identically
- Cross plus divergence → the strongest combination it offers
How it relates to everything else
Marking every crossing makes mid-range signals look as important as extremes, which is the main way this version misleads. The discipline is to act only on crosses that occur outside the bands.
- Same tool as WaveTrend with crossings drawn in
- Filter by the ±60 bands or the marks become noise
- Pair with ADX to avoid trading crosses inside a trend that is still running
What to watch for
Marking every cross makes the mid-range signals look as significant as the extremes. Most of the value sits in the crosses that happen at the bands.
